APPROACHES TO THERAPY
In order to affect the change that a client desires to make in therapy, there are different treatment options that can be drawn upon. But to know which treatment plans and options might be most effective, we first need to ground ourselves in understanding the client.
Therapy treatment typically begins with sessions focused on creating a shared understanding of the client’s history, relationships, and therapy goals. Therapy is a warm and non-judgmental space where the client is encouraged to reflect on and understand themselves. Insights may be found that inform the more active phase of treatment.
Although each type of therapy is unique and effective, when we work with client it is more than likely that we will integrate parts of each type of therapy to match the unique needs of the client.
